Kristin Butler is an editor, copywriter and journalist, newly nomadic after a decade in New York City. She serves as the senior editor and director of media for Native Business Magazine. Prior to her current role, for seven years, Kristin edited Indian Country Today, an international website for indigenous news. During that time, she also freelanced for a myriad of publications and ran a Manhattan- and Brooklyn-based tourism and bed-and-breakfast business on the side. She’s also known to moonlight in the wine industry. She previously helped to create an e-commerce site for a New York City-based wine retail store and co-launched their private wine label.
Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Kristin graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Concentration in Women and Gender Studies.
Kristin has been working professionally in the journalism industry for more than a decade. As a storyteller, Kristin is curious about what motivates people in life, and she has a sharp awareness of life’s complexities and subtleties. She’s intrigued by philosophy, psychology and spirituality, and is a life-time student of self-development.
Kristin’s work across all platforms is largely inspired by her love of people, her passion for adventure, and her desire to become the best version of herself possible.
